Time and Billing Matters 8.0 Now Available

As of September, Time Matters 8.0 and Billing Matters 8.0 became available.

Time Matters 8.0 new features include

  • CaseMap Integration allows record information to be sent to LexisNexis CaseMap to help organize case data
  • Custom Client/Contact Numbers – assign client and matter numbers for easy reporting and organization of your contacts and cases
  • Customizable Lookup Lists
  • Enhanced Outlook Integration – the TM Connect functionality that allows users to save email from Outlook to Time Matters now automatically saves attachments as document records
  • Inactive Staff and Classification Code options
  • PDA and Smartphone Integration. Time Matters offers synchronization support for Windows Smartphone and Windows Mobile 5 devices
  • Recycle Bin Enhancements – the recycle bin can now be sorted and emptied by date or record type
  • Strong Password Support and Security Enhancements
Billing Matters 8.0 new features include:

  • Auto-Email Invoices
  • New Billing Powerviews let you see client related billing activity from the contact or matter list
  • New Client Ledger and Billing History reports
  • Billing Setup Wizards make Billing Maters setup straightforward
  • Customizable Pre-Bill Layouts
  • Save Invoices as Documents
  • Trust Accounting Enhancements – matter to matter trust transfer and negative trust balance compliance

Software Certifications

Allen Hardon maintains his certifications on Timeslips and Time Matters software. He is a Certified Consultant for the Sage Small Business Division including Timeslips Data Repair Certification. Allen has worked with Timeslips software since 1986.

In addition, he is a Certified Independent Consultant (CIC) for LexisNexis Practice Management. He recently received his endorsements for Time and Billing Matters 7. He has been working with Time Matters software since 1994. Recently he attended the first annual CIC conference in Charlotte, NC.

Allen is also a contributor to legal software forums and listservs.

Report Spotlight

Timeslips time and expense slip listing reports are available in many variations in both detail and summary form.

You can filter these reports on virtually any criteria imaginable and you can include billable and non-billable items on the same report.

In addition, the slip summary listing provides many formatting options such as overhead, estimated time and variance,and analysis which may be turned off to streamline the report. An option to strongly consider if adjustments are made to bills is billed slip value, which compares the recorded slip value to billed slip value.

It is also possible to develop custom slip detail reports, including only the data elements required by the firm.
