Today's Enterprise Workforces: Remote But Not Isolated

Research conducted by IDG Research ServicesVoIP

With mounting labor challenges, businesses expect the hiring of fixed remote employees - those who work from solo offices or their homes - to outpace
investments in overall corporate workforces. But it's important to arm remote employees with the right tools to communicate and collaborate effectively-
or those hiring investments will be for naught.

Compelling new research sheds light on how many CIOs are deploying IP communications solutions to make that happen.

Restricted Party Screening Solution by Sherwood Systems

Restricted Party ScreeningComplying with U.S. export laws is becoming more and more difficult for companies, and the penalties for non-compliance are severe.  There are many different regulations and federal agencies involved depending on the type of export, which makes it challenging to comply.

According to Compliance Week, "An export is any item sent from the United States to a foreign destination, regardless of how it is transferred. That can include commodities, software, or technology. For instance, blue prints, design plans, retail software packages, and technical information can all be considered exports, whether they're sent by regular mail, hand-carried on an airplane, faxed, downloaded from a Website, or transmitted by e-mail or phone."

Many companies don't think the export laws apply to them and could be violating the law without even knowing it.  The best protection is a strong compliance program.  Sherwood Systems partnered with eCustoms to develop built-in compliance within Microsoft Dynamics GP.

The Restricted Party Screening Solution from Sherwood Systems automatically screens customers, vendors, sales documents and purchase orders in Microsoft Dynamics GP against various restricted party lists from government agencies, and alerts of potential non-compliance.  Working seamlessly with eCustoms Visual Compliance web application, contact information is sent and the results of the search are returned, without the user leaving Microsoft Dynamics GP.

If you would like more information on the Restricted Party Screening Solution contact Pauline Zorz at 602-943-9696 ext 101 or via email.

Tips & Tricks

Changing a Document Number or Type in Microsoft Dynamics GP

Once a sales document has been created (the number assigned and the customer selected) you are not allowed to change the document type, customer number, or document number.  This is a problem if you have placed a large number of line items on the document and do not want to delete it and re-key the items.  Here is a work around...  Void the document and create a new document with the correct header information.  Then, copy the lines from the voided document.  It's that simple!
