Timeslips and Time Matters
Upgrades
In the last issue I wrote about
Timeslips 2010 and it's new features. I am pleased to report
that the latest release of the program shipped in early July and has
been well received.
If you are unsure about the value
of upgrading your Timeslips software, take a look at the Timeslips
ROI calculator. You
can even enter your own company specific information to calculate the
potential return on investment for your organization.
In
addition to the new features previously reported, the word in the field
is that the program performs better in network environments.
Service Release 2 was made available on August 26. If you are
already using Timeslips 2010 please make sure you are on the latest
build as per the Supported Version Information below.
I
am always available to help you download and install service releases
to keep your Timeslips program current!
Rumor
has it that LexisNexis will introduce Time Matters and Billing
Matters version 10 later this Fall at their Practice
Management Annual Conference in Dallas. We are looking forward
to the new release and will keep you advised as to its availability.

From Allen's Desk
I hope you are looking
forward to your Labor Day holiday. Best wishes for
the Fall from all of us at Sherwood Systems!
Please note the Timeslips
training class schedule for September through December. The
most current training information can be found on our Timeslips
Classes
page. Please don't hesitate to contact me for specialized
training at our training center, in your office or via webinar.
Also note that Timeslips classes will be taught on Timeslips 2009 by
Sage utilizing the Timeslips 2009 by Sage training guides unless other
arrangements are made.
In
previous issues I have mentioned various scanning solutions that I thought
might be valuable to our customers. This weeks TechnoLawyer
NewsWire introduces Pixily, an online Document
Management and Document Scanning Service. Pixily provides you
with postage paid, waterproof envelopes with which you can send
documents for scanning. Pixily scans your documents and also makes the
text searchable, and then mails the originals back to you. You can keep
the documents in your online account and/or download them in PDF format
to store locally. Pixily provides end-to-end 256-bit SSL
encryption. If you haven't committed to a scan plan for your
office, perhaps this is the service for you!
TechnoLawyer
is a fabulous resource. Please note contact information listed
below in the Tips & Tricks section.
