Learn how to get the data you need out of your Great Plains (GP) databases using basic SQL queries or commands. Topics include the key tables in each module, the flow of data through the application, table relationships, and the oddities and "gotchas" when looking directly at GP data in SQL. Students will learn about the databases used by GP, how to backup and restore these databases, and how to keep on eye on the 'health' of their environment. They will learn about specific files and their use on the GP workstations, and how to perform basic troubleshooting. This all-day, hands-on training class reviews the basics of Purchase Order Processing (POP) in Microsoft Dynamics GP including entering purchase orders, receipts and returns, entering drop-ship and blanket purchase orders, entering landed costs, running reports and inquiries, and reconciling and removing history.

This all-day, hands-on training class reviews the basics of Sales Order Processing (SOP) in Microsoft Dynamics GP including defining setup options, creating sales documents, allocating and fulfilling item quantities, linking sales orders to purchase orders and running reports and inquiries. Also covered is how SOP interacts with Inventory, Purchase Order Processing and Accounts Receivable.

This hands-on class explores SmartList, a great inquiry tool in Microsoft Dynamics GP that can be used to access data. SmartList uses sets of predefined search criteria. The user may create an unlimited number of searches or views and save them as “Favorites” in the system. SmartList also allows you to access other Microsoft Dynamics GP windows related to the data contained in your search. Additionally, data collected using SmartList may be exported to Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel for further analysis. See Agenda

This half-day, hands-on training class covers Timeslips basics including entering time and expense slips, entering shortcuts and abbreviations, searching for slips and printing reports. Students will learn about creating new clients, timekeepers, tasks and expenses and how to create beginning Accounts Receivable balances. This class is appropriate for Timeslips beginners or those users who have not worked with the program recently.

This half-day, hands-on training class covers Timeslips intermediate topics including preparing for billing, formatting and printing bills, working with transactions and setting up billing arrangements. Students will also learn about split billing and reporting. This class is appropriate for Timeslips intermediate users.

This half-day, hands-on training class covers Timeslips advanced topics including security, managing a Timeslips database, customizing Timeslips Today and working with alerts. Students will also learn about creating custom reports, importing and exporting bill layouts and the use of the Station Administrator and Data Verification functions.

Cancellation Policy - Classes are subject to cancellation by Sherwood Systems if registration does not meet the required attendance level. Cancellations by Sherwood Systems will be made 1 week prior to the start date of the class. If you cancel your confirmed attendance up to 5 days prior to the start date of the course, 100% of the course fee will be refunded. Less than 5 days prior to the start date of the course, 50% of the course fee will be charged. Failure to attend a class without notifying Sherwood Systems within 24 hours prior to the start of the course will be considered a ‘no show’ and the entire course fee will be forfeited.
In order to receive the discount on the 2nd (or more) registrant from the same company, both must attend the class. If the 1st registrant does not attend the class, the 2nd registrant will be charged the higher rate.
